On Thursday morning, March 4, a local
La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries crew will make yet another special delivery of beautiful new furniture to Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California, bringing the contribution total to more than $15,000 to the local House. The partnership, which started in 2009, is supported by local owners Liz & Jim Reego, who own six La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries in Northern California. The much-needed donations support the local House which serves as a "home away from home" for families with a hospitalized child due to illness or injury.
"I sympathize with families dealing with a sick child," said owner Liz Reego. "When I was 14, I had an illness that caused me to spend months living in a hospital far from home. Given my mom had to drive hours each day back and forth, I can personally appreciate the value of what is provided by Ronald McDonald House Charities."
The furniture delivery scheduled for March 4 will include one full-size sleeper sofa, two beautiful stationary chairs and two ultra-comfortable ottomans, all donated by La-Z-Boy, Inc. In 2009 and in addition to a cash contribution, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries locally donated four beautiful new sofas, a large number of stuffed animals that currently provide comfort to families who need respite at the local House. Also, a roomful of beautiful furniture was donated to welcome and comfort visitors to Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake, in honor of a former La-Z-Boy designer Marie Stephenson, who passed away last year.
"As a locally owned and operated business, we have spent the last 25 years committed to giving back to the communities we serve, and we proudly support Ronald McDonald House Charities, " Liz Reego added.
